Crystal Palace Manager Congratulates Arsenal on Title Win Following Manchester City Draw

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has congratulated Arsenal on their Premier League title and aimed a pointed message at Tottenham by praising Eberechi Eze for choosing the Gunners over Spurs.

The title was confirmed on Tuesday night after Manchester City's draw at Bournemouth, meaning the race will not go to the final day. Palace host Arsenal at Selhurst Park on Sunday in what will now be a title celebration for Mikel Arteta's side.

What did Glasner say about Eze?

Eze moved to Arsenal last summer for £67.5 million from Palace. Spurs had been the frontrunners, but the England international held out for a return to his boyhood club, having initially been released by Arsenal at the age of 13.

Glasner said: "First of all I want to congratulate Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, his players, staff, for a huge achievement of winning the title after 22 years. It's a fantastic job they have done."

He added: "Also a special congrats to Eberechi. I think he's taken the right decision to go to Arsenal and not to another club."

What did Glasner say about Arsenal's title?

The Palace boss was generous in his praise, making clear the title was won over 38 games, not just by City's slip.

"You don't win the league on the last day," he said. "Every single game decided the title and for Arsenal's title it's just one club who is responsible for this and that is Arsenal, because they've done an incredible job and they deserve it. In the end you get what you deserve."

He joked: "Last year we played on the final matchday the league winner, which was Liverpool, and then this year it was Arsenal, so it was clear it was Arsenal... or us!"

Will Glasner rotate for the Arsenal game?

With the Conference League final against Rayo Vallecano in Leipzig on Wednesday, Glasner admitted he is in two minds about team selection.

"I change my opinion three times a day right now," he said. "From full rotation, to no rotation, to half rotation."

He cited concerns about 29-degree temperatures on Sunday, the possibility of extra time in Leipzig, and his own past experience of heavy rotation going badly, including a poor performance against Leeds earlier this season after making 11 changes in two days.

"I personally have so many negative experiences with big rotations," he said. "It's why I don't think we will rotate 11 players, but it makes sense for a few to see how they are playing 45 minutes each, making two or three subs at half-time, staying in rhythm."
