Manchester's food scene has gone from "decent for the north" to genuinely one of the best in the UK in about a decade. We've got two Michelin stars (Mana in Ancoats and Skof in NOMA, both quietly extraordinary), a Curry Mile that's been holding it down for fifty years, and more independent neighbourhood restaurants than we can keep up with. What we don't have is a guide that cuts through the noise. That's what this section is for. Every restaurant, bar, café, and pub we recommend has been visited by someone on our team.
