Manchester City fans gather at Wembley for FA Cup Final clash against Chelsea

Manchester City fans have arrived at Wembley in their droves ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea, with the club going for its eighth title in the competition and a fourth final appearance in four years.

What are the fans saying?

Among those making the trip are Danny, Katy and their grandad Jack, who have travelled from Preston for the final. Jack has been a City fan since 1955 and wore his sky blue suit, which he puts on for every big final. "Hopefully we get a big win today," he said.

Katy said she was so nervous she could not eat. "I've been to all four FA Cup finals in the past four years. The past two haven't been the best," she said, referring to City's recent defeats. She added: "I'm wearing blue and hoping for the best."

Her brother Danny was more confident, predicting a 2-0 City win with Erling Haaland scoring his first FA Cup final goal and Jeremy Doku "scoring a screamer."

Jen and Neil were back at Wembley with their daughter Lily and a "lucky" inflatable Haaland mascot. Last year, Jen correctly predicted on BBC Radio Manchester that City were going to lose to Crystal Palace. This year, she is feeling more optimistic, tipping a 2-1 City win.

"We just knew we weren't going to win last year but we are feeling more optimistic today," she said.

Seasoned Wembley visitor Gary said: "I've lost count the number of times I have been here now really. It's mad." He added that Chelsea "in the mood can turn up but hopefully they won't."

What did Guardiola say?

City manager Pep Guardiola joked that the club should name a stand after him at Wembley because he goes so often.

Who are the famous fans?

Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher are among City's most famous supporters and are often spotted at matches, though they are unlikely to be sitting together. Former Bond actor Timothy Dalton, chef Marco Pierre White and martial arts legend Jackie Chan are also City fans.

On Chelsea's side, celebrity supporters are said to include chef Gordon Ramsay, Michael Caine, Harry Potter star Emma Watson and singer Olivia Rodrigo.
