Five men arrested for affray as forensic tent and CSI deployed in Manchester's Chinatown

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of affray after a serious incident in Manchester city centre.
Officers were called at around 5.30am on Tuesday (June 16) after the ambulance service reported a man with an injury to his hand on Parker Street, near Piccadilly Gardens. Police found two men who both had cuts to their hands, which were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Five men aged between 18 and 37 were arrested. The MEN understands two of those arrested were the men found with injuries.
A cordon was put in place on the corner of Nicholas Street and George Street in Chinatown as part of Greater Manchester Police's investigation. A forensic tent was erected and crime scene investigators were seen scouring the area for evidence.
A GMP spokesperson said: "Five men aged between 18 and 37 have been arrested for affray, and are currently in custody for questioning. Officers are continuing with their investigation to understand circumstances which have led to this incident."
