Police cordon off Spotland Road in Rochdale as CSI search property after reports of serious assault
Spotland Road is closed in both directions and forensics officers are searching a house on Mitchell Street after a witness reported seeing a man with serious injuries being rushed to hospital.
Emergency services have taped off a street in Rochdale on Tuesday evening (June 16) amid a response to a serious incident.
Police and paramedics were called to Spotland Road, at the junction with Mitchell Street, where a large cordon was put in place. The road is closed in both directions.
One witness said he saw a man come out of a nearby property with injuries that appeared to be serious. It is understood he was rushed to hospital from the scene.
CSI officers in white forensic suits were seen conducting investigations, using cameras to take images within the cordon. They also entered and searched a residential property on Mitchell Street with cameras.
A bloodied towel was pictured on the ground within the police tape. Plain-clothed detectives were also at the scene alongside uniformed officers.
Greater Manchester Police have not yet released details about the nature of the incident or the condition of anyone involved.
