New CCTV image released in 'desperate' search for missing Tameside girl, 16

Police have released a new CCTV image in the search for a 16-year-old girl who has been missing from Tameside for 17 days.

Jessica was last seen getting off a bus at Piccadilly Gardens at around 8.25pm on Thursday July 16, Greater Manchester Police confirmed in a major update today (August 2). She had boarded the bus from the Windsor Road area of Denton.

Officers had previously said Jessica was last seen at Granada Park in Denton at 7.15pm that evening, but the new CCTV shows she travelled into the city centre by bus.

Jessica has been classed as a high-risk missing person. Police have said she has no access to a phone or money.

The new images show Jessica wearing a black zip-up top and carrying a bag on the bus. An earlier CCTV image showed her carrying two bags.

What have police said?

A GMP spokesperson said: "We are desperately doing everything we can to locate Jessica who has been missing from Tameside since Thursday, July 16. She was last seen getting off a bus at Piccadilly Gardens at around 8.25pm on July 16, having travelled from the Windsor Road area of Denton."

They added: "We and her family are incredibly concerned about her and want to make sure she is safe and well. If you are out and about, please keep your eyes peeled for Jessica, and anyone with information about her whereabouts, or who saw her on the bus that evening, should contact police on 0161 856 9325 quoting reference number MSP/06GG/0001262/26."

GMP have also launched a public portal for anyone with CCTV, mobile phone or dashcam footage to submit information.
