The woman at the centre of a murder investigation in Burnage has been named as Ann Teague.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police and paramedics were called to a house on Ivylea Road at around 8am on Wednesday (July 8) following reports of an assault. The victim, a woman in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remained in custody on Thursday afternoon.

Detective Inspector Sean McFadden from GMP's Manchester Criminal Investigation Department said: "We understand this will have caused some local concern around the community, but I want to reassure you we believe this to be an isolated incident."
He added: "We currently have a boy in custody and we ask people not to speculate as we continue our investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident."
He said: "My thoughts remain with the victim's family and friends as they navigate through this tragic loss. They continue to be supported by our specialist officers."
