Man Utd make 'contact' with Real Madrid over Tchouameni as Kone price drops and Scott decision nears
United have approached Real Madrid about Tchouameni despite Jose Mourinho wanting to keep him, while Fabrizio Romano says the widely reported €85-90 million price for Manu Kone is "not accurate" and will be much lower.

Manchester United have made an enquiry to Real Madrid over Aurelien Tchouameni, according to The Sun, as the club's search for a third midfielder intensifies.
United see the France international as the ideal Casemiro replacement. However, Jose Mourinho has decided he wants to keep Tchouameni this summer. As reported by the MEN, while there has been no formal attempt to sign the 26-year-old, United will be front of the queue if Real Madrid decide to cash in.
What is the latest on Manu Kone?
The price for Roma midfielder Kone is significantly lower than previously thought. Fabrizio Romano said on his YouTube channel: "If you see reports of €85-90 million for Manu Kone, I'm told that it's not accurate. I'm hearing that the price tag would be lower for the French midfielder."
Romano confirmed United had "contacts with the camp of the player" last week and that "conversations continue," but added: "Man United have to wait to understand how much they can spend on the defensive midfielder. As soon as they can decide, then Man United will go for the next steps. At the moment, Manu Kone remains on Manchester United's list, but still no bid to Roma, no club-to-club negotiations."
Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson has urged Chelsea to hijack the deal, telling Metro that Kone would be "the perfect replacement" for Enzo Fernandez if he leaves Stamford Bridge.
