M62 reopens after multi-vehicle crash causes four-mile queues near Denshaw

A multi-vehicle crash on the M62 eastbound caused four-mile queues and 40-minute delays on Friday evening (September 18).
Two lanes were closed between junction 22 for Denshaw in Oldham and junction 23 for Huddersfield. Traffic cameras showed queues building past Scammonden Bridge in poor weather.
National Highways said: "Lanes 2 and 3 are closed following a multi-vehicle collision. Vehicle recovery has been arranged and debris has been cleared. Current delays of 39 minutes on approach, with 4 miles of congestion."
All lanes reopened at around 8.39pm. Delays of 40 minutes persisted for a time but began to ease.
Two lanes were also closed on the M62 eastbound near the Eccles interchange (junction 12) in a separate incident.
