National Highways has confirmed works on routes including the M60, M62, M56, M6, M61, M66 and M67 from Friday (October 2) to Sunday (October 4). Most closures are overnight, but one stands out.
What is the biggest closure to watch?
The M60 at junction 7 (Stretford) will be closed in all directions from 6.30am to 6pm on Sunday. Entry and exit slip roads on both the clockwise and anticlockwise carriageways are shut. This is a daytime closure and will affect drivers heading to and from the Stretford area, including anyone travelling to the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
What else is closed?
The M60 clockwise between junctions 14 and 17 is shut from 11pm to 6am on Friday and Saturday nights. The M61 southbound link to the M60 clockwise is also closed overnight.
The M62 eastbound between junctions 22 and 24 is shut on Friday night from 9pm to 6am. The M67 between junctions 3 and 4 is closed in both directions every night this weekend from 8pm, and a longer closure runs eastbound from junction 0 to junction 2 from 9pm Friday through to 5am Monday.
The M56 eastbound from junction 9 to 7 is closed on Friday night. Multiple M56 slip roads and link roads are affected across the weekend.
The M66 southbound from junction 4 to M60 junction 18 is shut on Friday night.
