Not technically an event but the easiest "thing to do" in Manchester. The Northern Quarter has the highest density of brilliant independent pubs in the city, and you can walk between all of them in under five minutes.

A self-guided tour of the Northern Quarter's best independent pubs. Start at the Castle Hotel for a gig in the back room, move to Common for craft beer and food, swing by the Edinburgh Castle on the edge of Ancoats, and finish at Cottonopolis for cocktails. Five pubs, one neighbourhood, one of the best nights out in the UK.
