Venue

Co-op Live

1 Sports City Way, Etihad Campus, M11 3DU

Kevin Parker's Tame Impala project brings its psychedelic stadium rock to Co-op Live in May for what's been one of the most anticipated tour announcements of the year. Tame Impala live is something else: hours of sound and light staged to within an inch of its life, with a live band that turns Parker's bedroom-pop tracks into massive, sweaty, dance-the-whole-show experiences.

What to expect

Tame Impala live shows are events. Kevin Parker's project has become one of the most-praised live acts in modern music, with a multi-piece band, an enormous light and projection rig, and a setlist that draws across the whole catalogue from Innerspeaker through Currents to The Slow Rush. Expect to dance for two hours straight. Co-op Live's bowl, designed specifically for music with a low ceiling and tiered seating that brings fans closer to the stage, is going to feel about half its actual size.

Practical info

  • Doors typically open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm show

  • Bag policy: small bags only, no large backpacks

  • No professional cameras or recording equipment

  • Photography from the floor with phones is generally fine

  • 32 bars and restaurants throughout the arena

  • Cloakroom available

  • Co-op Live is a 100% electric powered venue and one of the most sustainable in Europe

How to get there

Co-op Live is on the Etihad Campus. The Metrolink Etihad Campus stop is directly next to the venue and trams run every 7-8 minutes from the city centre. Walking from Manchester Piccadilly takes 25 minutes via the CityLink walking route. After the show, expect long queues for trams.

Context

Co-op Live opened in May 2024 and is the UK's largest indoor arena with a capacity of 23,500. It has 32 bars, 12 lounges, and was designed primarily for live music with a low ceiling and an intimate bowl design.

What's nearby

Limited dining around the Etihad Campus itself but plenty of options if you walk or tram back into the city centre. New Islington and Ancoats are 15-20 minutes' walk and have brilliant pre-show options including Erst, Sugo Pasta Kitchen, and Mana for the very committed.
